Overview
Think for a moment about some of the challenges you face working with people from your
own culture. You may face difficulties in understanding their logic, ideas, personal
differences and work ethics. These things can be a greater challenge when you are
dealing with colleagues and customers from another culture.
The aim of this unit is to develop your cultural awareness so you can communicate with
people from other cultures in a clear, respectful and courteous manner.
Since we live in a multicultural society, having a general knowledge of different cultures
can help in creating a harmonious working environment. This will help you meet your
customers’ needs and expectations.
